Privacy policy

Short version: Pc Controller does not require an account, show ads, or send your keystrokes, pointer motion, or pairing secrets to SKITZ. Control stays between your phone and the PC or TV you choose. Optional update checks download a public file from the product site.

Who we are

This policy describes Pc Controller (the Android app) and SKITZ PC Agent (the optional Windows/Linux helper) published by SKITZ. Questions: toonersai@gmail.com. Product site: https://skitz-games.pages.dev/pc/

We are not a cloud remote-control service. There is no SKITZ login, customer database of your devices, or dashboard of your sessions.

What this app is for

Pc Controller lets you use a phone you own as a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, as a Wi‑Fi TV remote on your home network, and (optionally) as a Wi‑Fi pad to a PC running SKITZ PC Agent on that same network.

Information processed on your devices

The following is processed locally so the product can work. It is not uploaded to SKITZ.

• Bluetooth names and addresses of PCs, TVs, and other HID hosts you scan or pair with, so the phone can advertise as a keyboard/mouse and reconnect.
• Wi‑Fi TV discovery: device names, IP addresses, brand/protocol, and pairing material the television requires (for example Samsung tokens, LG pairing keys, Android TV PIN/code, MAC address used for Wake-on-LAN on some Samsungs).
• The last successfully connected TV (id, name, protocol) so the app can reconnect when you open it, if that setting is on.
• SKITZ PC Agent: LAN address, one-time PIN on the PC, and after pairing a bearer token stored on the phone keyed to that host. The helper stores a token and a short runtime file under your user folder on the computer.
• Remote-control traffic itself: pointer motion, clicks, key codes, typed text, media keys, power commands, and app-launch shortcuts. These go to the selected host over Bluetooth HID, local HTTP/WebSocket TV protocols, or the agent WebSocket — not to SKITZ.
• Voice commands: microphone audio goes to the Android speech recognizer (the system speech service, which may be Google). Pc Controller matches the transcript to a command on the phone and does not send audio or transcripts to SKITZ.
• App preferences: theme, pad photos (IndexedDB on the phone), pointer/scroll sensitivity, haptics, update-check and auto-reconnect toggles, macros you create.
• On Android, the system may include app data in device backups because backup is allowed at the OS level. Uninstall or “Clear saved connections” removes what the app stored.

Information that may leave your network

The Google Play edition of the Android app receives app updates from Google Play only. It does not download or install APKs. Sideloaded builds may fetch a public updates.json from the product site over HTTPS, then (only if you install) an APK from allowlisted HTTPS URLs on skitz-games.pages.dev. The optional PC helper may fetch an agent archive from allowlisted HTTPS URLs on skitz-games.pages.dev or GitHub raw. Those requests can appear in ordinary web logs (IP address, time, file, user agent). They are not tied to an account. On sideloaded builds you can turn update checks off in Settings.

Opening the product site, Privacy, Terms, or sharing the agent link in WhatsApp uses those third-party services under their own terms. App fonts are bundled in the APK; the web product site may load fonts from Google Fonts.

We do not operate analytics, advertising, crash reporters, or session telemetry in the Android app or PC Agent.

How information is used

• Discover, pair, reconnect, wake, and control computers and TVs you select.
• Keep Bluetooth HID or the agent session alive (foreground service / notification on Android).
• Remember the last TV and last agent host when those settings are enabled.
• On sideloaded Android builds, check for and apply APK updates you confirm in the system installer. Play Store builds do not do this.

We do not sell, rent, or broker this information. SKITZ does not receive your pairing credentials or control stream.

Permissions (Android)

• Bluetooth / nearby devices: advertise and connect as a HID keyboard and mouse.
• Nearby Wi‑Fi, Wi‑Fi state, internet, multicast: find TVs and talk to SKITZ PC Agent on your LAN. Sideloaded builds may also fetch the public update list.
• Notifications and a connected-device foreground service: keep an active HID session visible so Android does not kill it.
• Microphone: optional. Used only when you tap Voice, for speech-to-command. The app does not record in the background.
• Legacy location (Android 11 and earlier): required by Android for Bluetooth scans; the app does not read or store GPS location.
• Sideloaded builds only: after you confirm a system install prompt, Android may send you to “install unknown apps.” Play Store builds never request that path.

Security and network trust

Android allows cleartext (unencrypted HTTP) on the local network because several TV vendor APIs and SKITZ PC Agent (LAN port 8787) speak HTTP or WebSocket without TLS. Those requests stay on your LAN; they are not sent to SKITZ. Some TV protocols also use self-signed certificates because that is what the television provides. The Wi‑Fi agent gates commands behind a PIN then a bearer token; commands are allow-listed (no arbitrary shell from the phone). Sideload update files are checked with SHA-256 against the published list; only allowlisted hosts are accepted.

Use Pc Controller on a trusted home or private network. Anyone who can use your unlocked phone can control a paired PC or TV. Anyone on an untrusted LAN who can reach a misconfigured TV API may already be able to send remote keys — this app does not make that safer than the TV vendor’s protocol.

Retention and your controls

Local data remains until you clear it, uninstall, or wipe the device. In Settings you can turn off auto-reconnect and haptics, and clear saved TV and agent pairings. Sideloaded builds can also turn off site update checks. Uninstall the Android app or the PC helper to remove remaining files on that device.

Children

Pc Controller is a general-purpose remote. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Do not use it to supervise or track a child.

International users

Hosting for the catalog and update files may be provided by Cloudflare and GitHub outside your country. Those providers process request metadata to deliver the files. The control path itself stays on your LAN or Bluetooth radio.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product changes. The in-app copy and https://skitz-games.pages.dev/pc/privacy/ should match. The “Updated” date at the top is the latest revision.
