Chess plus a center Nexus — hold it with your King, spend mana.

Goal
Standard piece movement, plus a 2×2 Nexus in the center. You win by holding the Nexus with your King for a full round, or by capturing the enemy King while it stands inside the Nexus. Earn mana and, before a move, you may cast:

| Aegis | 3 | Shield a friendly piece until your next turn (not a King already in the Nexus) |
| Overdrive | 4 | A non-king piece may move twice (second move cannot end on 1st/8th rank) |
| Tactical Swap | 5 | Swap King with a friendly non-king (King cannot land in the Nexus via swap) |
First two minutes
- Follow the first-run tutorial: Play → rating → vs computer → White → start.
- Tutorial asks: tap pawn e2, move to e4, then acknowledges the Nexus.
- Play a few moves. Cast an ability from the HUD when you have mana, then move.
- Optional: flip boards (Nexus / Forge / Classic) from the menu after the tutorial.
